Developmental Services of Iowa, Inc. (DSI) is currently accepting applications for a part time Human Resource Assistant.
The Human Resource Assistant position is vital to DSI’s success and operates in a dual role having both administrative support and human resource functional support responsibilities. Duties are to answer the telephone, receive visitors, process mail, order/maintain office supplies and forms, distribute inter-office documents, data entry, take meeting minutes, copy, file, recruit, screen, interview and hire potential candidates, employee relations, schedule training, maintain personnel records, conduct benefits meetings, workers’ compensation administration, assist members of the administrative team on special projects, execute errands and tasks as assigned by administrative staff, and other duties as assigned.
Qualified applicants have at least 2 years experience working in an administrative support or human resource field with knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the human resource discipline. Desired characteristics include being organized, self-motivated, dependable, having a positive attitude, being trustworthy, as well as having a strong work ethic, and the ability to take initiative. The Human Resource Assistant should possess excellent organizational and communication skills; the ability to balance several different priorities and the ability to work independently. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a High School Diploma or GED, and must be highly proficient with computers.
